Olney Town got off to a good start, with a shot from Luca Seminerio just going wide.

The teams for the first ten minutes were neck and neck, neither team looking the more dominant side. There was a very risky tackle from Gary Thurston, which was beautifully executed. In the 16th minute there was a very tense moment as Olney claimed that Liam Boath of Desborough had hand balled the ball.

Will Arnold put the hosts ahead, with the ball finding the bottom of the net from outside the box.

DESBOROUGH 1-0 OLNEY TOWN (Arnold 18’)

For the next 20 minutes until half time very little happened, with there being some shots but none being converted.

HALF TIME

Soon after the play resumed the small but lethal Andy Hall scored to make it 2-0 for the hosts - thoroughly deserved as he was an extremely solid player for Desborough.

DESBOUROUGH 2-0 OLNEY (Hall 50’) Daniel Jenkins then came on for Luca Seminerio for Olney Town in the 50th minute.

The away team managed to pull back a consolation goal through Drew Mitten, just after Liam McInally had been subbed on for Jason Turner.

MY MAN OF THE MATCH:

Very close between Kev Owusu and Andy Hall, but Andy Hall clinches it. His work rate from right back and dropping into right mid proved that he was a diamond in the rough - their star player by far.
